About Brain Codes

Meet Brain Codes

Meet the people and teaching approach behind Brain Codes.

Our approach

Strong foundations make room for more.

Every learner has a different starting point. Teaching works best when the next step feels understandable and achievable.

01 / BEGIN

Start at the learner’s level

Build from what a student already knows, one clear step at a time.

02 / NOTICE

Make patterns visible

Stories, memory techniques, examples, and guided practice help ideas stick.

03 / CONNECT

Use learning in real life

Connect academic skills with music, projects, building, and everyday problem solving.

About Brain Codes

Teaching should open doors.

Tanya and Darren are teachers from Alberta who have taught across grade levels and subjects, from small farming communities in northern Alberta to schools on Australia’s Gold Coast.

Darren has spent more than 25 years looking for clear, memorable ways to teach math, language arts, and music. His work has included classroom plays, memory and math competitions, and hands-on learning projects. Tanya has supported the work of sharing these ideas with families and educators.

Together, they want learning to feel less like a chore and more like a lifelong desire.
